Please, take note that the Workshop will be held at “Palazzo Franchetti”, the "Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti" second premises, is one of the most noteworthy buildings in Venice right next to the “Palazzo Loredan", which has been the Institute historic home since 1809. The location of the Palazzo Franchetti in the very heart of the city, the site and complexity of its spaces, its noble architecture and its garden overlooking the Grand Canal make it a  moderne conference centre with all the necessary services.

How to reach the “Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti   

For those arriving by plane at Marco Polo Airport which is located about 13 km from Venice the easiest way to reach Venice is by sea.

ALILAGUNA is a public water taxi company which offers a service (the Lancione) that goes from the airport passing by Murano island and the Lido to "Calle Vallaresso", near Piazza San Marco,  which is at a walking distance from the "Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti". The crossing takes abt. 1 hour 10 minutes. The Lancione connects more or less with all flights. The ticket for this boat (Lancione) costs Euros 10,00 and can be purchased at the ALILAGUNA taxi stand at the end of the arrival hall (opening hours: from 8 am to 12 pm).The timetable is: departure from the Airport to Venice (Calle Vallaresso) every hour at 0:10 minute starting from 6:10 am to 00:10 am.; departure from Venice (Calle Vallaresso) to Airport: at 4:35 am, at 5:35 am and every hour at 0:50 minutes starting from 6:50 am to 10:50 pm.

You can also take a private water taxi from the airport directly to your final destination (the cost is abt. Euros 80,00/100,00).

From the airport you can also take a public Bus (ATVO) (the cost is Euros 3,00 and it travels abt. every 30 minutes)  or a land taxi to Piazzale Roma (the cost is abt. Euros 27,00) and from there catch a public boat (Vaporetto) to the stop closest to your final destination (see details in the next paragraph).

For those arriving by train at the Railway Station or by car at the parking garage at Piazzale Roma there are several possibilities. To go directly to the "Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti" one can take the Vaporetto, Line 1 or Line 82 (every 10 minutes from 7:00 until 21:00; every 20/30 minutes afterwards) to the stop Accademia. The ticket costs Euros 5,00. From there one has to cross the "Ponte dell'Accademia" and walk more or less directly to Campo S. Stefano. You can also take a private water taxi from the Railway Station to your final destination (the cost is abt. Euros 50,00).
